TITLE: Math Interventionist
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Primary certification as established by Education Professional Standards Board.
2. Completion of training requirements upon hiring as specified by the Henry County School District and the school.
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: N/A
JOB GOALS: To collaborate with classroom teachers in implementing math intervention services as outlined by the school; including but not limited to pushing into and pulling students out of the math or intervention classrooms to provide small group instruction or co-teaching in the math classroom.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in appropriate professional development as required by the school
- Administer appropriate assessments and work with the Response to Intervention team to identify students for interventions
- Provide direct intervention services according to district and school guidelines
- Monitor the academic progress of each student receiving intervention services as outlined by the district and school plans
- Collaborate with the assigned regular classroom teacher(s) to implement appropriate math instructional strategies within his/her core math instruction time
- Communicates with parents, other teachers, instructional assistants, and supervisors as necessary to implement the school’s intervention plan
- Performs other professional tasks (within reason) as may be assigned by the principal or the superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Superintendent and the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
