QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Kentucky Certificate with endorsements in teaching areas.
2. Such additional qualifications as the superintendent or Board may
find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOALS: To develop in each pupil an interest in and the ability for expressing himself creatively in visual terms, utilizing skills and techniques of artistic expression appropriate to the pupil's interests and
abilities; to develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations; to
discover and develop talents of pupils in the field of art.

Responsibilities Specific to Teaching Area

A. Teaches knowledge and skills in art, including crafts, drawing, painting, lettering, design, commercial art, art history, and three-dimensional art to secondary pupils, following the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, and other appropriate learning activities.
B. Provides instruction by which pupils develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art.
C. Instructs pupils in proper care and use of tools and equipment.
D. Organizes storage areas and controls use of materials, equipment and tools to minimize loss or abuse, and to reduce time required for distribution and collection.
E. Selects and requisitions books, instructional materials, tools, instructional aids, and maintains required inventory records.
F. Plans and presents art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit pupils' work for the school and the community. May sponsor exhibits from outside.
G. Performs such other professional tasks (within reason) as may be assigned by the principal or the superintendent.



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the superintendent and
the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
